Volunteering in Paradise

Updated: Apr 6

Story by Dustin Wentzell

Paradise Electronic Music Festival now in its 14th year and like any growing entity is seeking volunteers to help make it the best one yet.

Founder and mainstay DJ, Kevin Jack (DJKJ) says “the volunteer movement is pivotal for the festival to be successful, it takes a team to take care of a team, and a community to take care of each other”

They are looking to fill 4 hour shifts for jobs such as tending the gate, grounds security, clean up, first aid (certification needed) concessions, as well set up and tear down.

DJKJ says “We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who want to be part of creating something beautiful.”

The volunteer hours go towards a free weekend pass which also grants free camping. Harm reduction booths and Les EssentiElles will be on site providing their support and expertise for festival goers.

The idea of the 3-day event is bringing electronic music platform to the Yukon. Known for pounding out the bass with their unbelievable PK sound system and full fledged lighting show, along with the scenery of Kettley’s Canyon overlooking Marsh Lake and the organic and ever-growing stage design, it becomes an experience unlike any other in the Territory.
